Acting and Early Voiceover Career:

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, I’m a native Geordie and can authentically ‘do’ the accent. After rigorous classical training at Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre (now Manchester Metropolitan University) on a 3-year dramadegree course, I built a successful acting career, appearing in prestigious television shows such as Coronation Street, The Bill, London’s Burning, The Ward, Children’s Ward, Strange But True, Jeffrey Archer’s., First Among Equals for Granada Television,even an episode of the BBC’s Crime Watch plus others, as well as extensive theatre work.

My voice acting career began during my first theatre job, where I was ‘discovered’ by audio producers working for the newly launched Metro Radio and became their go-to female voice for numerous radio commercials. My training in the Audio Visual department at drama school, including work with professional radio and TV producers and a BBC Charlton Hobbs Audio Drama award entry, provided a strong foundation. When that theatre tour ended I moved to London, continuing my work in theatre and film, and even established and ran an actors’ agency.

Accent and Training:

My extensive drama school training and additional training with Gravy For The Brain and Voiceover Kickstart, allows me to deliver a wide range of convincing regional accents, including Yorkshire, Scouse, Welsh, London, and Transatlantic, alongside my now natural Received Pronunciation (RP) accent.”
