Hi I'm Margaret
I’m a professionally trained actor and British female voice over artist with my own business and recording studio in Purley,Surrey. As a classically trained actor, my acting training has helped me to have an enjoyable and a successful career as a top British voice over artist and actor, where I’ve worked on a wide range of projects with both small companies up to major brands.
I offer a warm, natural voiceover read for TV and Radio commercials and explainer videos. My voice creates impact – to gain attention, build engagement and entice customers to buy products and services.
I can create a character or be natural for your video, telephone on-hold message or marketing campaign. I have a wide range of voices from the dramatic to evocative, authoritative and converstaional to animals or quirky characters for gaming, animation, children’s animation and TV shows. My clients include IBM, English Heritage, Nippon Gases, V&A Museum, BBC/Big Finish (Doctor Who) to name but a few, you can see a full list of my clients on the Clients page.
As both an actor and a skilled voice actor I am always professional and passionate about standards and great at what I do. You can see some of my various client testimonials on this site.
I have a very versatile voice and know how to create the right tone for your brand. You’ll probably have heard my work as a British female voice over artist on the radio, on TV, on various apps and podcasts and even some audio books.

If you have a voice in mind and it’s not on the list, please ask me anyway! But if you need a female British female voice over artist, with warmth and a smile, I can help you, just get in touch.
I trained at an accredited drama school, what was Manchester Poly School of Theatre (now Manchester Metropolitan University) which gave me experience in film, television, theatre and radio and indeed was entered for the Charlton Hobbs BBC Radio Drama Award. I studied there with some fellow students who are now household names, David Threlfall, Amanda Burton, Jilted John (Graham Fellows) and previous year students included Julie Walters and Richard Griffiths (Harry Potter's Uncle Vernon Dursley) the school had great connections with Granada TV Studios, in fact I lodged with Tony Warren, creator of Coronation Street, for awhile and went on to film at Granada for Coronation Street, plus The Ward and Jeffrey Archers 'First Among Equals'.
Other television included working for ITV, LWT, Thames TV and TTTV, appearing in The Bill, London's Burning, Strange But True (True Crimes series) for the BBC, Innes Book of Records with Neil Innes, of Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band fame as his wife, Crime Watch, Wyatt's Watchdogs, Coming Home, Our John Willie and in theatre both regional and in London where I made my debut at the famous Gate Theatre in John Antrobus' Hitler In Liverpool playing Bridget Hitler, originally acting opposite fellow Geordie, George Irving as Hitler. I made my acting debut in my native North East with Durham Theatre Company touring in A Taste of Honey, Relatively Speaking and The Tinder Box where I got my taste for creating crazy characters playing Whinny the Witch, complete with green wig. It was while touring I was discovered by a couple of audio producers who introduced me to the land of radio ad recording and I ended up recording lots of amazing radio ads and characters for the new Metro Radio and became the female voice over of the North East.
I have also spent some time as an actors' agent and an assistant casting director as well as helping new writers with R&D and rehearsed readings for various new writers companies including Page2Stage, Liars League, London Actor Writers Group and South London Writers Group.
I am so lucky to be able to work from my own studio in a job I really love and get to work on some amazing projects with other voice artists in some of London's professional recording studios.
